A Change of Heart
“Create in me a clean heart, O God”
Psalm 51 should need no introduction. It is widely known as one of the most powerful and beautiful Psalms. It's author, David, is devastated in his sin and yet determined towards his God. It is a Psalm that details the path of David’s confession, his cleansing, and then his conviction to still be used of God. It is a Psalm that details a change of heart—a wonderful and God-glorifying change.
But this Psalm not only applies to David, it applies to all. It reveals a truth that we cannot ignore or disregard because all of life is really a battle for the heart. Every day we need a change of heart regardless of how far we think we have come. That is what this three-part series is designed to do: to invite God to change our hearts again. It is this truth that sets the path for the rest of life.
